Manta
This city is Ecuador's second most important port. It has extensive hotel infrastructure and many places for nightlife. Its main beach, El Murciélago, has a modern seafront with restaurants offering tasty food. Manta has become a compulsory stop for international cruise ships touring the Caribbean and the Latin American Pacific.

Bahía de Caráquez
Bahía de Caráquez, in the province of Manabi, is another of the most attractive destinations on the Ecuadorian coast. Situated on the coast, at the mouth of the river Chone, it has comfortable hotels, restaurants and night spots. It has tall modern buildings, beaches and museums, among other things. Around it are places of ecological and archaeological interest and a diversity of animal species and vegetation.

Zaruma
La Villa de Oro de Zaruma, with its little wooden houses with their distinctive balconies, lies 86 km. from Machala, in the province of El Oro. Its beautiful architecture has made it famous in the south of the country. Other tourist attractions include a visit to the Matriz church and a taste of the delicious coffee from the region. Guayaquil
Guayaquil, capital of the province of Guayas, is the main port and economic capital of the country. It is taking shape as a modern metropolis with a large hotel capacity including important international chains. There are also museums, large malls, high class restaurants serving national and international food, bars, discotheques and convention centers. Another attraction is the new Malecón 2000, a gigantic complex including galleries, stores, gardens, works of art , places to eat, etc. Besides important historical public buildings, the city has a traditional district, Las Peñas, whose colonial architecture shows traces of a past which is currently being restored. Other places to visit include the Botanical Gardens, Historical Park and monuments to great men such as Vicente Rocafuerte, Eloy Alfaro, Simón Bolívar and San Martín.
